Cooler On The Coast
What do you get when you combine the chorus pitch blower (Kelly Cawthra), a Bass Harmony Gold Medalist (Marion Penton), a Lead section leader and dual quartetter (Elizabeth Houghton) along with a Performance Judge (Fatima Whelan)? Cooler on the Coast! This foursome was brought together not only by their friendships but mutual love of harmonies. Officially formed in 2021, their name is fitting for the place they call home and the warm and “cool” welcoming feeling they have experienced living and growing up in Nova Scotia.

Message from Cooler On The Coast:  "We look forward to sharing the East Coast spirit in the form of sweet harmonies on the stage or whenever the opportunity arises, especially after the past two years!  Can’t wait to entertain you"

Tonic!

Seven years ago, Marion, Adele, Mary and Cathy discovered that singing together in close harmony was a real pick-me-up. Since then, their Tonic! has been performing for a variety of audiences throughout Atlantic Canada, as well as competing both regionally and internationally.  In the spring of 2021, Mary moved to Ontario to be closer to her family, and the members of Tonic! were pleased to welcome Mickey Melanson as their new Tenor.

Tonic! has proudly represented Harmony Inc’s Area 1 region as Quartet Champions from 2015 through 2019, winning the most improved quartet award twice.  At the 2018 International Convention and Contest in Orlando, FL, Tonic! received fifth place medals as well as the “Image of Harmony Award” for service within the organization and the wider community, and the “Accord Award” for the most improved quartet.

Message from Tonic: “It has been a tumultuous year with challenges for all during this pandemic but Tonic! is excited to be learning new songs and singing together once again. We are full of anticipation and excitement to share our mutual love of music and Harmony with live audiences in the near future!”
